Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) is a program that provides transportation to people who cannot utilize other forms of transportation in order to access medical care or services. The service is also used by patients who have no access to other forms of transport. NET services help facilitate the achievement of the US government’s vision of enabling access to affordable and quality healthcare especially for the elderly and the disabled. Most NET services are provided by firms that offer ambulatory non-emergency patient transport. Such patients may be on a stretcher or wheelchair bound but do not require critical ambulance response.
